Diabetes is a term that we have all heard before, but how well do we know what it really means? According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Diabetes is a chronic health condition where your blood glucose levels are too high. Consuming sugar alone is not a direct risk factor that leads to diabetes. Other factors such as genetics, lifestyle, and your overall diet have an impact as well. However, many studies have revealed that those who drink sugary beverages are at a 25% higher risk of type 2 diabetes. Excessive sugar in your body is also converted into fatty acids and stored as body fat. Therefore, watch your sugar intake as too much sweet food might not be the primary cause of getting diabetes but it definitely increases your risk of being diabetic.

Yes, it’s true! Many people with type 2 diabetes do not display any symptoms in the beginning. It’s also possible to not have any symptoms for many years.
