Influencer marketing strategies with micro-influencers for Sake Singapore

“Best/Most creative content will stand a chance to win $xx” if you have been on our Partipost app recently, you would have seen phrases like such. The idea behind this was to encourage, you guys, our Partiposters, to try and up their photography skills and to create better content for campaigns.

So who better to interview than our first creative content winner and to get her to share her tips and tricks for photo-taking and photo-editing. The amount she earned might shock you! She earned herself a whopping $450 just by doing two of our influencer marketing campaigns and by winning the most creative content.

If you aren’t keeping up with our campaigns and contests, make sure you follow us on our Instagram account @Partipost and sign up for our weekly newsletters.

1) Focus

You might think something as simple as focus would be easy, but no, there are many people who rely too much on their phone’s autofocus function that they fail to check if the photo is even clear before snapping.

How many times have we taken a photo without manually focusing and found the image to be blurry when we reviewed them?

What’s even worse, we settled on the blur image because we ‘missed’ the moment for the shot AND we still post it on Instagram. Don’t go down that road if you want an Insta-worthy feed, FOCUS!

2) Rule of Thirds

Nothing is more annoying than a crooked shot. The gridlines are there for a reason! Use them to help you align your photos before taking them.

Besides that, the gridlines ensure you are always using the rule of thirds. The rule of thirds is another important photo taking tip.

Basically, the theory proposes that we should divide the image into three parts, vertically and horizontally. After which, ensure the important compositional elements are on the lines or at the intersection points.

(If you are using an iPhone, go to Setting -> Camera -> Grid)

3) Using Presets

Do you always look at influencers and wish you knew how they edited their photos?

Well, now you can and it’s easier than you think! Travel and lifestyle influencers have come up with their own personal Lightroom presets which you can buy for a small fee.

They are magic! For 90% of my pictures I will use the same preset, it instantly becomes just that much better and it's just with one click. You might have to do some simple editing after as not every picture is the same. But this was probably one of my best investments ever for Instagram!

Three of the influencers that she mentioned that she alternates between is

@aggie, @emilyvartanian, @maddy.corbin

4) Portrait mode

For everyone who has an iPhone 7 Plus and above, you should have seen a new camera function called “Portrait Mode” which uses the phone’s two lenses to capture the depth and add a beautiful DSLR with wide aperture effect to your shots.

I love using this function especially for product/close up shots or when there is a nice background but it is too distracting

It gives you gorgeous quality pictures with minimal effort!

For all of you who have yet to test this function out, you are missing out! For those who don’t have the function, don’t fret! You can download an app called “After Focus” which offers the same functionality.

5) Do your research

I always do my research especially when I am going to travel or when I am running out of content ideas! Stalking travel influencers or browsing Pinterest are my go-tos. When I see a piece of content I like, I will usually save it on IG so I can refer back to it in the future.

Having a rough idea in mind will help you visualize your pictures better. If not, check out what other people are creating for inspirations! Check the hashtags of our campaigns to see what posts are getting approved, so you can create similar images with your own style or go the complete opposite to stand out!

You don’t need an eye for photography to get a IG worthy shot. With the right angle, lighting and some practice, you can turn a photo in a carpark to look like it was taken in NYC! Location tags of places on Instagram is a great place to draw inspiration on what others have posted.

6) Posing for pictures

Sadly we are not all blessed to have been coached by Tyra Banks on how to smize, so the next best thing we can do is to figure out for ourselves what angles work best for us.

This may sound weird and embarrassing to admit but I sometimes look into the mirror and pose to find out what are my good sides, how I should angle my face and how to pose to make my legs look longer

🙈

If you are looking for some help with posing, you should check out this app called “Ulike”! They have so many poses you can do whether you are taking your #ootd or a couple shots.

Or you can also check out this video by Jenn im, the master of taking ootds and find out her top 10 poses for Instagram.
