4 Easy Hari Raya Snacks To Make With An Air Fryer

  2. Muslim food, cakes, and cookies are heaven-sent

If time is not on your side, or you simply have no idea what to make during Hari Raya this year, here are 4 different Halal recipes you can easily recreate with an air fryer. Especially if you�??re just starting out in the kitchen.?�

Milo Krispies Cookies?�

Where there is milo, there you�??ll find me. Milo is great on its own, but add it to your cookies, and bam, you get addictive Milo Krispies Cookies.

To make 20 cookies, you�??ll require the following ingredients:

  • 80 g Butter?�
  • 40 g Sugar
  • 100g Flour?�
  • 1 tbsp Cornflour?�
  • 1 stick 3-in-1 Milo Packet?�
  • 80g Rice Puffs (for coating)?�
  • 50g Dark or Milk chocolate pieces for cooking

The best part? You�??re only 5 steps away from sinking your teeth into chocolaty goodness.

Directions:

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 170?�C and line the basket with aluminum foil.
  2. Beat butter and sugar till fluffy fold in flour and milo to mix well.?�
  3. Roll batter into 10g-15g balls (depending on your preference).?�
  4. Slightly flatten the dough balls into a bowl of rice puffs on both sides, and then reshape them so they�??re round.
  5. Place everything into the air fryer at a slight distance from one another.

Matcha Green Tea Almond Cookies?�

What�??s buttery and chewy? It�??s none other than these Matcha Green Tea Almond Cookies.

Heads-up Matcha lovers because you�??re going to love this recipe which yields 17 pieces of cookies.

What you�??ll need:

  • 35g Butter?�
  • 25g Castor Sugar?�
  • 50g All Purpose Flour or Top Flour?�
  • 1.5 tsp Matcha Powder (available at Phoon Huat, NTUC Finest Japanese section, Isetan supermarket)
  • A pinch of salt?�
  • 20g Chopped Almonds

Directions:

  1. Using an electric mixer, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. In another bowl, sift the flour, matcha powder and salt.
  3. Using a spatula, mix the ingredients in both bowls along with the chopped almonds.
  4. Roll the batter into a ball and wrap tightly in a cling wrap. Chill in the fridge for about 30 mins.
  5. Preheat the air fryer at 140 degrees for 3 min.?�
  6. Weigh the dough at 7g each and roll into small balls.?�
  7. Line the air fryer tray with baking paper and arrange them neatly.
  8. Leave it in the air fryer at 140 degrees for 10 min. If you like a cracked top, continue baking for another 3 mins.
  9. When it�??s done, leave the cookies to cool for at least 5 mins before carefully transferring them to a plate.

Pandan Muffin Recipe?�

If you�??re not a fan of Matcha but want the same pop of color on your dining table, these pandan muffins by Nur Filzah Akma are definitely worth a shot.

All you�??ll need are:

  • 1 1/2 Cup of Milk
  • 1 Cup Melted Butter?�
  • 3/4 Cup Sugar?�
  • 1 Egg?�
  • 1/4 Tsp Pandan Flavoring?�
  • 2 Cups Wheat Flour?�
  • 1 Tsp Baking Powder?�
  • 1 Tsp Baking Soda

Directions:

  1. Blend milk, melted butter, sugar, egg and pandan flavouring together.?�
  2. Then mix wheat flour, baking powder and baking soda together in a separate bowl.?�
  3. Add the two mixtures together and mix till smooth.?�
  4. Scoop in the batter into paper cupcake holders, filling about 3/4 of it.?�
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 150?�C for 3 minutes.?�
  6. Cook the batter for 15 minutes and you�??re done!

Tahu Kriuk Kriuk?�

Not much of a sweet tooth? This one�??s for you.

Tahu Kriuk Kriuk (aka Tofu Puff) is the perfect snack for those in search of a spicy kick.

Ingredients required to make 20 pieces:

  • 20 Small Tofu Puffs?�
  • 80g Tempura Flour?�
  • 1 Tsp Baking Powder?�
  • ?� Tsp Salt

Directions:

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 170?�C.
  2. Mix the flour and baking powder together, and whisk in the water to make a batter.
  3. Make a slit at the top of the tofu puffs and invert them. Pat them dry with a kitchen towel to remove any hint of moisture.
  4. Dip the inverted tofu puffs into your batter made in Step 2 and arrange them neatly in the air fryer. Cook for 12 mins until they�??re crispy.
  5. Leave it to cool and serve with your choice of chilli dipping sauce.
