Singapore??s most precious jewel is not made of stones, but of glass and steel. Particularly, architecturally designed glass and steel disguised (not really) in a lattice dome-shaped waterfall at Changi Airport. Jewel is the all-new Singaporean craze. Your off-day/weekend plans have and probably will involve making a journey to the East to bask in the newness of it all. Lucky you, Easties!
Partipost has hopped on the bandwagon and made a trip down to Jewel to give you our top 10 picks for what to do when you visit Singapore??s newest gem.
1) Five Spice
Move over Shake Shack and A&W! Five Spice is the newest player in the game. Dedicated to the local flavours of Southeast Asia, it??s an eatery both travellers and locals should dine at. Their interior design may attract you to the place, but their food will get you coming back for more. Inspired by the local hawker culture in Singapore, we give Five Spice 5 stars!

2) O'TAH?
After the heavy meals we had at Five Spice, we decided to take a walk and check out the small shops around! We came across a local favourite with a twist, O'TAH! Brought to us by Lee Wee Brothers, O'TAH offers a unique and refreshing take on your classic barbecued fish paste wrapped with banana leaves. They use ingredients such as salmon, cream cheese, scallop and even anchovy.
For those of you who are more adventurous, you can try out their creative dishes such as Ben's Burger, which is contains a fried otak patty with charcoal buns or TAH-co, which is mackerel fish otak that are wrapped crisp tortillas and served with guacamole. We will definitely be back to try out their creative dishes one day.
FYI, they are open for 24 hours!!! Perfect snack for a late night flight.
3) Potato Corner
Our next stop was dubbed as the World??s Best Flavoured Fries, it??s no surprise they have landed a spot in the highly coveted Jewel. The queue for this was crazy but we persevered on and were definitely not disappointed. It??s delicious and there were so many flavours available to choose from. Did you see our campaign with Potato Corner? If you missed it, you may want to turn on your notifications and sign up for our newsletters so you don't miss out on new campaign launches in the future such as this one!?
4) L??darech Chocolatier Suisse
One of the many perks of Jewel is that you get many different countries all at a walking distance. We think Switzerland, we think chocolate. The Swiss artisanal Laderach Chocolatier Suisse is handcrafted with the best Swiss chocolate couverture. Chocolate-lovers, this one??s for you.
5) Emack and Bolio's
Our last food stop of the day was of course ICE CREAM!! We had to check out Emack and Bolio's Instagram worthy ice creams. Originating from the USA, Emack and Bolio's see themselves as the rockstars of the ice cream world. They serve over 35 different flavours and we were definitely spoiled for choice! We each tried a couple of different flavours but our favs were Chocolate Addiction and Mint Chocolate! You can obviously tell we love our chocolates. Highly recommended that you try out their marshmallow waffle cones as well!
6) Petal Garden
Located at the top floor of Jewel, the Petal Garden shows a creative display of seasonal flowers from around the world. This Instagram-worthy spot gives you a beautiful backdrop and emphasises on the fact that Singapore is indeed a garden city.?
7) Hedge Maze
Fancy a little Maze Runner moment? Don??t worry, there??s no grievers in this one, only rows and rows of never ending hedges. Tried and tested, give this one at least 30 minutes of your time because they do get tricky.
8) Pokemon Centre
Feeling the Pokemon frenzy after the latest Pikachu movie? It's the first ever Pokemon Center that has opened other then in Japan and it was definitely on our list to check out! It??s a Pokemania in there we kid you not, every Pokemon you can think of is available in the form of a plush toy at the Pokemon Centre. They even have stationaries, trading cards, and even jewellery available for sale.?It was so crowded, they had to assign specific time slots for you to go in so make sure you head there early and get a slot! For all you Pokemon fans, this is a must-go!
9) Foggy Bowls
For family outings, this one??s a definite winner with the kids. Let them play and surround themselves in puffs of mist, and they can even indulge in their dreams of playing in the clouds. This dreamy setting also makes for a good photo-taking spot for the adults.?
One thing that we noticed was that the mist doesn't build up very high so for adults who are looking to get a good shot, we suggest lying down on the grass to capture the mist rather than a standing shot.
10) Rain Vortex
Unsurprisingly, this 40-metres high waterfall has become the icon of Jewel. You won??t even need a geotag to know where your friend??s Instastory is taken at. The world??s tallest indoor waterfall right smack in the centre of the mall. At night, there??s an immersive light and sound show, it??s almost like a mini Spectra (Light & Water Show at Marina Bay Sands). Get your phones and cameras ready, this one??s a vision.
Tip to nail your Instagram-worthy shot, make use of your iphone's pano function. Flip your phone upside down, camera should be on the bottom and take a picture starting from your legs going upwards, towards the rain vortex. This way you will be able to fully capture the beauty of the rain vortex.
